Los Angeles is still a Lakers town, and the city’s fans reminded folks about that on Sunday.
Kawhi Leonard attended Sunday’s Rams-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game in Los Angeles and was booed when shown on the scoreboard.

Kawhi Leonard did not receive the warmest of welcomes when he was traded to Toronto, either. Raptors fans had come to adore DeMar DeRozan –who went to the San Antonio Spurs as part of that trade — while Leonard was coming off an injury- and drama-filled season with the San Antonio Spurs.
Of course, Leonard would squash all doubts about his abilities during a sensational title run. Leonard averaged 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.7 steals in 24 postseason games, playing nearly 40 minutes per night as he leads the Raptors to their first NBA title in franchise history.
Leonard chose to sign with the Clippers as a free agent over the Lakers and likely played the purple and gold in the process.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP being booed by his home city’s fans prove how many passionate Lakers fans are still upset with him over the choice. The rivalry between the two teams is going to be great this season.
The Clippers have their fans, but the Lakers run the LA sports market with an iron fist. With that in mind, Kawhi and George shouldn’t expect the warmest of receptions from Laker Nation
