The Los Angeles Clippers might as well be called the Los Angeles Monstars. The Clippers are already loaded and are now expected to big up another major player in Reggie Jackson.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Jackson and the Pistons agreed to a contract buyout. Once he clears waivers, the guard is expected to join the Clippers.
Jackson has averaged 14.9 points and 5.1 assists per game this season. He’ll add depth to the Clippers’ second unit, joining their guard rotation of Patrick Beverley, and Lou Williams. For the Clippers, that’s a good thing, but not so much for Jackson, who will be fighting for minutes in a crowded backcourt.
Jackson could prove to be a valuable asset come playoff time, especially against the Los Angeles Lakers. Jackson will be a free agent this summer, so a great playoff showing could lead to a great payday.
